Dr. Willard’s Natural Restorative Pet Care Contest Promotes Pet Adoption and Shelter Awareness

CAW Industries, Inc., the parent company and manufacturer of Dr. Willard’s Natural Restorative Pet Care Kit, announced the beginning of a nationwide contest, Dr. Willard’s Pet Lover of the Year, designed to promote responsible pet adoption and to encourage shelter volunteering. The contest asks pet lovers to submit their pet adoption story on the company’s website. Submissions will be “judged” by CAW Industries, Inc. staff and a panel of experts from the pet care industry who will pick a winner to be announced in April as part of National Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. The winner will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to the Best Friends Conference being held in Atlantic City, New Jersey July 13-15.

“My family and I are long time animal lovers and supporters of pet adoption,” said John Willard, III, president and CEO of CAW Industries and Dr. Willard’s brands. “To honor the important place our family’s pets play in our lives we wanted to create something that we hope will encourage others to join us in adopting pets from shelters or from rescue organizations. We believe this contest will stimulate interest in pet adoption and help create awareness of the need to adopt pets from shelters and reputable rescue organizations.”

The idea for the contest has its genesis in the experiences, both good and bad, that Willard family members have had when adopting shelter pets. The Willard family has a decades-long history of adopting pets and, through their shared experiences, have developed a belief in the many benefits of making abused and neglected animals a part of their family. The contest was developed as a way to encourage pet lovers to share their experiences and to promote pet adoption awareness.
