Bentley’s Pet Stuff, Protection for Paws Hold Trivia Night to Benefit Local Pet Organizations

Bentley’s Pet Stuff, an all-natural pet food store with seven locations around St. Louis, Missouri, along with Protection for Paws, a pet insurance company, came together to hold a Trivia Night event on June 3. The fun-filled evening, with raffles and trivia, collected over $7,500, benefiting local pet related organizations Dogs on Duty, Furry Friends Recovery, Missouri K-9 Friends and The Carol House Quick Fix.

More than 200 residents attended the event, which was held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3944 in Overland, Missouri.

“We hope to make this an annual event and raise even more next year. The support that we received from the rescues and community in promoting this event was amazing!” said Andrea Merkel, a Bentley’s Pet Stuff store manager. “It was so great to see so many people coming together for a fun evening, being highlighted for charity.”

“To be a part of this wonderful and heartfelt evening is exactly what Bentley’s Pet Stuff is about,” added Lisa Senafe, president of Bentley’s Pet Stuff. “To support our community and give back truly is our mission, especially with organizations that have the same principals as ours.”

Dogs on Duty assists with providing training, equipment and funds for working and servBentley's 2ice dogs.  These include military K-9 dogs, police K-9 dogs, search and rescue dogs, service dogs and therapy dogs. Furry Friends Recovery provides support by connecting pet therapy teams for comfort, healing and wellness to people who experience developmental, emotional and traumatic challenges.

Missouri K-9 Friends focuses on educating the community about animal welfare and breed discrimination, advocating legislation for animal welfare and protection and to rescue dogs in need. The Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic’s mission is to reduce pet overpopulation by providing an effective, accessible and affordable spay/neuter option. Protection for Paws has a mission to end economic euthanasia by helping to ensure pet owners are financially prepared when their pets need unexpected veterinary care.
