Listen to this articleAccording to the 2017-2018 American Pet Products Association (APPA) National Pet Owners Survey, a dog owner spends an average of $84 per year on groomer/grooming aids. That’s an increase of $23 per year from APPA’s findings in the 2013-2014 National Pet Owners Survey.
The grooming sector of the pet product industry is expanding as more dog owners are realizing that grooming is beneficial for their pets. Whether using an in-store washing bay at a local pet store or taking their dog to the grooming salon for nail trimming or a complete bath-style treatment, pet owners utilize grooming to be aware of their dog’s health while ensuring the pup is clean and looking its best.
For example, the simple act of brushing does much more than keep dog fur in place. No matter what breed they are, brushing helps to remove dead hair, dirt and dandruff. Regular brushing also helps them to relax and reduce stress, while bringing out the natural oils in the dog’s fur and spread them all over to give the coat a healthy sheen.
