Officials from the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA), co-presenters of Global Pet Expo, have announced that the 2016 Global Pet Expo Academy Seminars, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, were attended by more than 1,400 participants.

The number of attendees saw a 20 percent increase over last year.

Participants had 31 sessions to choose from, featuring 11 different speakers. Instructors included many of pet retailing’s best-known authorities in marketing, merchandising, operations, finance and technology.

“From hundreds of best practices to details about no- and low-cost apps and online tools, attendees garnered information that they could put to use immediately,” said PIDA president Steve King. “We’re very proud to offer this unique program and look forward to continued success in the coming years.”
