Animal Supply Company (ASC), the national leader in pet food and supplies distribution, announced that it acquired the assets of Holistic Pet Source (HPS), which is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. ASC acquired the inventory and the customer and vendor contracts which will be integrated into ASC’s East Region, effective immediately. ASC will now offer independent pet store partners in the Southeast more than 17,000 pet specialty products. It is Animal Supply’s mission to share its passion for animals through trusted partnerships that connect the brands and customers we serve to those who love pets.

“We are excited to extend our partnerships with great brands such as Champion and Zignature,” said Don McIntyre, CEO of Animal Supply Company. “Expanding our presence in the Southeast—furthering our relationship with many current customers and welcoming new customers to the Animal Supply family—is a strategic win for the company. We look forward to strengthening and building on the acquired vendor relationships. We are in an excellent position to continue our growth and Delivering Success™ to our customers and vendor partners.”

“We feel it is time to start a new chapter in our lives with the transition of Holistic Pet Source’s assets to Animal Supply Company,” said Gaia Melkumova and Jerry Williams, co-owners of HPS. “HPS started with the guiding principle that it’s not about the business, it’s about the pets, and we are confident in ASC’s ability to carry on the traditions defined in our name while meeting the needs of an evolving industry. We are grateful to Animal Supply Company for their important function within the pet industry and are also grateful to our vendors, customers and employees that supported us on what began as a simple quest over 20 years ago to provide the best for our pets, and still remains true today.”
