House Considers Animal-Use Terrorism Measure
Persons who intentionally damage an animal facility, or cause the loss of property, including animals, would face fines and as much as 10 years' imprisonment under provisions of a House resolution introduced in July.
The Terrorism Against Animal-Use Entities Prohibition Improvement Act of 2004 targets increased attacks on agricultural, pet and other facilities made for political reasons, according to the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (Washington).
The bill had not been assigned to committee at press time. [November 2004 PET AGE]
